Menzies appoints Giles Wilson as CEO on a permanent basis

John Menzies plc – holding company of Menzies Aviation – has appointed Giles Wilson (pictured below) as chief executive officer (CEO) on a permanent basis with immediate effect.

He was appointed chief financial officer of the group in June 2016 and assumed the position of interim CEO on 12 March 2019.

Having joined the Group in 2011, Wilson has held a variety of senior roles, including finance director of Menzies Aviation and senior vice president of the Group’s African, Middle East and Indian Operations.

John Menzies plc chairman, Dermot Smurfit said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Giles Wilson as our CEO. Giles provides excellent continuity whilst bringing great energy and enthusiasm to the role.

“He has strong relationships with our shareholding base, a sound understanding of our business and is already tackling the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
