Menzies Aviation wins Finnair ground handling contract at Copenhagen Airport

Menzies Aviation will take over Finnair ground handling operations at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) from January 2019.

The contract adds five daily flights to the handler’s CPH operations, a total of 35 turns per week. Finnair is Finland’s largest airline, the sixth oldest airline in continuous operation, and a member of the Oneworld alliance.

Menzies vice president for Northern Europe, Dave Beekman said: “This is a great addition to our Oneworld portfolio, and marks the impressive growth of our CPH station from its beginnings in April 2015.”

Meanwhile, Menzies Aviation Indonesia has commenced their first ground handling and freighter operations at  Jakarta Soekarno–Hatta International Airport for My Indo Airlines.

The airline schedules 12 flights per week from CGK to Singapore (SIN) and two other Indonesian airports: Balikpapan Sepinnggan Airport (BPN) and General Ahmad Yani International Airport (SRG).

A support team from Menzies Australia assisted the local team for eight weeks of preparation for the start of operations. This included high level training for new staff, ensuring compliance with Menzies standards.
