Eurowings inaugurated its new service between Hannover and Milan Bergamo Airport on 6 May, enhancing connectivity between Italy and one of Germany’s most significant business and trade fair centres, catering to both leisure and business travellers.

Flights will initially operate twice per week, conveniently scheduled on Mondays and Fridays, increasing to four weekly from 4 September, with additional services on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The addition of Hannover complements Eurowings’ existing operations between Dusseldorf and Milan Bergamo, further expanding the airport’s network and offering more flexible travel options to passengers.

Hannover is renowned for hosting major international trade fairs, and this new connection will provide crucial links for professionals and exhibitors traveling to events from Northern Italy.

Furthermore, the new service opens up more opportunities for tourism, cultural exchange, and economic collaboration between Italy and Germany.

It enables easier access to the rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty of Lombardy and the surrounding regions, promising an increase in tourist arrivals.

Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation, SACBO, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Eurowings’ new flight from Hannover, which marks another significant step in our ongoing efforts to enhance international connectivity and support the local economy.

“This service will be a vital link for business professionals and strengthens our position as a key gateway to Northern Italy.”
