An immersive exhibition about Changi Airport’s new Terminal 5 (T5) is now open to the public. The exhibition, named T5 in the Making, shows passengers what Changi’s fifth terminal will look like once completed. It also offers a snapshot of what the future of air travel might look like.

There are five zones to walk through, each covering a different aspect of the expansion. Visitors can start by learning about why Changi is building T5 and what the project means.

They can then witness a visual transformation of T5, from reclaimed land to a functioning terminal, and observe the new technologies that will be on offer. Towards the end, large screens help visitors create their own visions of the terminal, including natural elements within the design.

The Ministry of Transport (MOT), the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), and Changi Airport Group (CAG) all jointly organised the project. “Visitors will witness the technologies being explored to address manpower, ageing population and climate change challenges, and conclude their visit by imagining the future with interactive artificial intelligence (AI) experiences,” said MOT, CAAS and CAG in a joint media release.

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong unveiled the plans for T5 back in May 2025.  Once completed, Changi Airport will be able to handle an extra 50 million passengers a year.

T5 is part of a larger Changi East development, which was first mentioned in 2013. The other key aspect of Changi East is a three-runway system. The airport hopes to repurpose an existing third runway to accommodate passenger planes by the middle of this decade.

T5 in the Making is suitable for all ages and available only in English.

It is free to attend, but visitors should book a time slot. It opens from 10am to 8pm daily, with last entry at 7:15pm, and should take about 60 minutes to complete.

T5 in the Making is on display in Terminal 3 from today until March 2026.
