Tour operator Balkan Holidays has begun its weekly service to Bourgas from London Southend Airport (LSA).

The new charter service, which will operate every Monday until 2 September.

The start of the new Bourgas service follows on from last week’s announcement that Tenerife has been added to the routes being offered by easyJet next summer from LSA.

The popular Canaries destination joins new flights to Las Palmas, Antalya, Dalaman, Pisa, Marrakech and Enfidha launching in S25.

Nigel Mayes, Business Development Director at LSA said: “Balkan Holidays was an early supporter in the recovery of London Southend, and its fantastic to see this programme of charter flights launching today from London’s quick and easy airport.

“The start of this operation is further evidence of LSA’s route network rebuild and a tangible example of the opportunity for partners to grab the opportunity to grow with us now before London’s capacity is full again.

“We are confident that there is more growth to come for next summer.”

Andy Jones, Head of Product and Commercial at Balkan Holidays added: “Our holidays to Bulgaria are very popular so we are thrilled to have commenced weekly flights from London Southend today giving people across Essex, East of London and East Anglia easy and convenient access to our great value for money and high-quality holidays.”
