The 2025/26 winter season is now underway at Milan Bergamo Airport, running from 26 October to 28 March, featuring an extensive and diverse network that further strengthens Lombardy’s connectivity with Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
More than 7.18 million seats will be offered on scheduled services over the five-month period by over 20 carriers, led by Ryanair and Wizz Air, which continue to anchor the airport’s extensive short- and medium-haul network. In addition, Milan Bergamo is seeing sustained
growth from full-service and hybrid airlines, including Georgian Airways, Eurowings, flydubai, Pegasus Airlines and Italian leisure specialist Neos.
One of the key highlights of the 2025/26 winter schedule is Wizz Air’s expansion at Bergamo Airport, which will see the launch of five new routes.
The airline is adding services to Chisinau on 26 October, Bucharest-Baneasa on 31 October, Warsaw-Modlin on 2 December, Suceava
on 15 December and Sibiu on 6 January, further building on Milan Bergamo’s extensive network in Central and Eastern Europe.
These new routes complement Wizz Air’s existing 11 destinations from Bergamo.
Leisure demand also continues to grow. Following a strong performance since its launch in April, Air Cairo will maintain its flights to Sharm el-Sheikh throughout the winter season, giving Italian travellers additional access to Egypt’s Red Sea coast at a time of peak holiday demand.
Mid-haul connectivity is on the rise as well. flydubai will increase flights to Dubai to twice daily from 16 December.
Operated in partnership with Emirates through its extensive codeshare agreement, the service will provide even more access to Dubai and seamless onward connections across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Air Arabia will further support demand to the UAE by increasing services to Sharjah, operating up to 11 weekly flights over the holiday period.
Neos will continue to support Milan Bergamo’s international connectivity this winter by maintaining its weekly service to Dakar, a route that has grown in importance over time by serving strong VFR (visiting-friends-and-relatives) demand while increasingly attracting Italian leisure travellers to Senegal’s expanding tourism market.
Network development is being matched by improvements to the passenger experience.
Milan Bergamo Airport will unveil a brand-new security area and duty-free zone on 26 November.
The redesigned security checkpoint will feature next-generation scanners, allowing passengers to leave liquids and electronics inside their hand luggage, reducing waiting times
and making the journey through the airport even smoother.
Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation at SACBO, said: “We are pleased to enter the 2025/26 winter season with an even stronger and more diverse route network.
The continued confidence of our airline partners reflects Milan Bergamo’s position as one of Europe’s most dynamic and efficient airports.
“With new routes, additional connectivity via major hubs and significant infrastructure upgrades, we remain committed to offering passengers greater choice, comfort and connectivity while supporting the region’s economic growth.”
