General Manager HAVAS Ground Handling
Being a graduate of and also having his post-graduate in Istanbul University Political Sciences Faculty International Relations Department, S. Mete Erna began his professional life in aviation industry in 1995 at Havaş. Undertaking several positions at various airline and ground handling services companies in Turkey, and abroad throughout his career, Erna rejoined Havaş family in 2014 and continued working on sales, marketing and business development operations. S. Mete Erna had been working as the Deputy General Manager in charge of Sales and Marketing since October 2017 and assigned as the Acting General Manager of Havaş as from July 1st, 2020 and as General Manager as from October 1st, 2020.
Graciela Gonzalez Cervantes
International Airports Contract Specialist Aeromexico
A lawyer, having graduated from Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico, Graciela has plenty of experience in negotiating and drafting contracts within different industries. She has been responsible for ground handling procurement at Aeromexico for over three years. Her IATA Training has included Airline Contract Law, SLA-SGHA Effective Negotiation Behaviours & Procurement and Contracts Management. She formulated the SLA for ground handling services for Aeromexico's SGHA and is responsible for following up on the quality of international services delivered to the carrier.
Executive Chairman ASE Group
Mohamed is a experienced Chief Executive Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the airlines/aviation industry and travel industry. He is a board member of Airport Services Association - ASA and a member of the IATA Ground operation Group - GOG. ( GOG IS acting as an advisor to the OPC, IATA management and other relevant IATA bodies on all matters related to the ground operations. It will also be approving changes to the AHM and IGOM ). Mohamed holds skills in negotiation, operations management and tourism. Mohamed is a strong business development professional with a Bachelor of Arts, Department of English Language and Literature, Ain Shams University.
Managing Director Airport Services Association (ASA)
Fabio is a seasoned manager in Air Transport, with more than 20 years in the industry. He was born in 1970 in Geneva, Switzerland, and moved to Brussels in 2002, where he currently resides, with his wife and son. He graduated from the International Relations Institute in Geneva (IUHEI), Switzerland, and got an M.A. in International Relations at the University of Vienna, Austria. Prior to that, Fabio did a two-year apprenticeship of assistant Air Traffic Controller at Geneva airport. He worked for different companies and trade associations, all related to air transport. He started his career at the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) upon his return to Geneva in the late 90s, then joined The Boeing Company as a Deputy Director Air Traffic Management in Brussels. He proceeded with the position of Deputy SG of the now defunct Association of European Airlines (AEA), before leading the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) during six years until 2016. He is currently managing two Associations in parallel, namely the Airline Catering Association (ACA) based in Belgium, and the Airport Services Association (ASA) based in Switzerland. Next to his family and work, Fabio enjoys history books and essays, particularly on the Antiquity period. He is also a regular tennis player and a big fan of any sports that involves rackets.
Woo Kam Weng
With more than 40 years of experience in the aviation ground handling industry, Mr. Woo retired from his last position as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of POS Aviation Sdn Bhd in January 2021. As the key management personnel of the aviation company, he played an instrumental role in developing the world’s first Digital Free Trade Zone outside China, creating the roadmap for a regional logistics and e-commerce hub. He has also successfully led the company through the most successful period in its history through unlocking the achievements of three highly profitable years, with Pos Aviation appointed as ground handler for 7 of the top 10 airlines of the world. He was the Asia Pacific representative on the Board of Airport Services Association based in Geneva. Furthermore, he was also responsible for the management and operations of the subsidiary, POS Asia Cargo Express and headed the setup of Joint Venture companies between POS Aviation and other global players. An advocate of Digital Transformation, he established the company’s innovative programs which were recognised by Microsoft as one of the success stories, culminating in winning the Malaysia Technology Excellence Award 2021 He believes everyone has talent which will fit a certain role in any organisations. The ability to unlock and unleash that talent is the mark of a true leader. Having of steered the company safely through the through unprecedented turbulent times of the Covid pandemic whilst still maintaining operational and financial integrity, he has gained greater insights into transformational leadership. The Future Leaders will need to develop Foresight Thinking and the ability to create innovation with agile thinking skills. Leveraging technology, guided by insight data-driven decisions, developing work competencies and nurturing talent are key success factors to future-proofing organisations. Prior to his position as the CEO, he had also served in various capacities and capabilities which include the Head of Commercial Support, Head of Business Development & Integrated Logistics, and Aircraft & Engineering Manager of the company since 1997. Throughout his career, he has received/attained several appreciation letters and technical certifications relevant to the industry. He has been invited to speak at international conferences specifically on innovation, digital transformation and foresight thinking in the e-commerce, logistics & aviation industry. Other than that, he is also an Associate member of Malaysian Institute of Management. He was awarded the Bank Negara Gold Medal Winner in 1997 for his academic achievements in Diploma in Malaysia at Malaysian Institute of Management. In addition to that, he also previously held an aircraft maintenance engineers licence for various aircraft types.
EVP Europe Menzies Aviation
Miguel has more than 20 years’ experience in the Aviation Sector. He has worked for Menzies for the past 13 years, in various roles and in different countries, within the European leadership team and currently holds the position of EVP for Europe. Prior to Menzies he has held positions in Acciona and Spanair. He holds both a BA(Hons) in Business Majoring in Accounting & Finance and a MSc in Environmental Management. Miguel has a multi-cultural background and experience, being born in Sweden, brought up in Spain, done his universities studies in the UK and currently resides in the Netherlands.
CEO Air Dispatch
Nick has worked in Aviation for over 30 years and has held a number of roles at all levels within the industry. He is currently CEO of Air Dispatch, a dnata owned Centralized Load Control business. He is passionate about simplifying the business and believes in the maxim “ a simple process rigorously enforced” He and his team work with all their clients to remove unnecessary tasks to free up the Load Controller to undertake the safety related task of ensuring the aircraft stays within the safe limits required for flight. Nick has worked extensively with IATA, EASA and other industry bodies to develop best practice in a number of areas. Air Dispatch was formed in 2007 and is the world leader in centralized Load Control providing services to a number of tier one carriers across the globe. In 2019 became the first company to produce loadsheets for more than a million flights in a single calendar year.
