Qantas has announced a new partnership that will allow its frequent flyers to use their Qantas Points to book flights on Hawaiian Airlines.

This partnership gives Qantas frequent flyer members access to Hawaiian’s global network, which includes all four major Hawaiian Islands, 15 US cities and 10 international destinations.

With Hawaiian now serving non-stop routes from Honolulu to Sydney and Auckland, Qantas frequent flyer members will have more options for using their points on flights to North America.

From Honolulu, Hawaiian provides same-day connections to major US cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Salt Lake City.

Andrew Glance, Qantas Loyalty CEO, mentioned that Hawaii has always been a popular destination for Qantas’ frequent flyer members.

He said: “We know Hawaii is one of the most sought-after destinations for our frequent flyers and the partnership with Hawaiian Airlines will be welcome news for members eyeing up their next overseas trip.

“The partnership also builds on the recent launch of our direct Melbourne to Honolulu Qantas service in May and gives our members more routes, more choice and more access to travel rewards using their points.

“The number of Classic Reward seats booked with partner airlines has doubled in the last five years, so we know how important it is that we continue to invest in growing our network and provide members with more opportunities to use their points.”

In addition to the reward partnership, Qantas has also entered a codeshare agreement with Hawaiian as the Honolulu-based carrier is on its way to become a full member of the Oneworld alliance following its merger with Alaska Airlines.

Hawaiian is expected to fully integrate into Oneworld by 2026.

Regarding this collaboration, Alex Judson, Hawaiian and Alaska’s managing director of partnerships and international, said: “Hawaiian Airlines has served Australia for 21 years, and we’re thrilled to extend our unique onboard services, products, and experiences – rooted in authentic Hawaiian hospitality – to even more Aussies through our partnership with Qantas.

“Qantas frequent flyers, and eventually Oneworld members, will find unmatched value when redeeming their points to start their vacation on Hawaii’s flagship carrier.”

The new seats add to Qantas’ 20 million bookable reward seats across its network and its various partner carriers.
