Qatar Airways is delighted to announce a new sponsorship agreement with top Tunisian WTA tennis player Ons Jabeur. The partnership will see the Qatar Airways logo appear on Jabeur’s clothing at major tennis tournaments during 2021.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Marketing and Corporate Communications, Ms. Salam Al Shawa, said: “We are excited to welcome Ons to the Qatar Airways portfolio of top sport partnerships as Brand Ambassador. Ons is a talented, hardworking sportswoman and we look forward to supporting her goal of breaking into the world’s top 30 women’s tennis players.”

Ons Jabeur said: “I’m extremely proud to become Brand Ambassador for a such a prestigious airline. As a professional tennis player, I travel extensively around the world and Qatar Airways is the best airline I have travelled with. I look forward to enjoying their fabulous service and comfort as much as possible over the coming year.”

Born in Ksar Hellal in Tunisia, Ons Jabeur is the all-time best Arab tennis player. She started playing tennis at the age of 3 and soon rose to become one of the most promising players of her generation, winning the Junior French Open in 2011. She went on to become a national hero and broke numerous records held by Arab players in the past.  Earlier this year, Jabeur reached the quarter-final stage at the Australian Open, along with the fourth round at the French Open. She is the first Arab player to break into the world’s top 40, currently ranked 31.

Qatar Airways has strong ties with Ons’s nation Tunisia, having operated flights to the capital Tunis since 2005. While COVID-19 forced the airline to temporarily suspend services, Tunis was one of the first African destinations where flights resumed, with the national carrier of the State of Qatar currently operating three weekly flights.
