In efforts to increase preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19, Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) has introduced the use of COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Self-Test Kits for its flight crew.

RB received 500 COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits to kickstart this initiative, courtesy of Brunei’s Ministry of Health.

The test kits, distributed to all RB flight crew, including pilots, cabin crew, flight engineers, and load sheeters, must be taken before reporting for duty.

Staff with positive rapid test results or those showing any flu symptoms will not report to work and will be required to undergo a COVID-19 PCR test.

“The introduction of the mandatory rapid test before every flight is a testament to the commitment we have to the health and safety of our guests and employees at Royal Brunei Airlines,” said Captain Khalidkhan Hj Asmakhan, Chief Executive Officer of RB.

“We are continuously monitoring news on the global impact of COVID-19 on the airline industry to ensure our procedures remain the highest standards for curbing the spread of the virus.

“We are also pleased to share that 93% of RB staff have been vaccinated, with 87% already receiving their full dose.

“This is part of our pledge to ensure that guests travelling with RB will fly with greater peace of mind”.
