Eddie Wilson, Ryanair’s CEO said: “Ryanair continues to deliver record growth across Italy, investing in regional airports like Turin where this Winter we will provide 1.5m low fare seats (+30% growth) across 32 routes, offering more choice than ever for passengers flying from Turin.

“This record schedule also features 2 new routes to Liverpool and Pescara, in addition to increased frequencies across 16 existing international and domestic routes – underlining Ryanair’s commitment to enhancing both international and domestic low-fare connectivity, in addition to inbound and outbound tourism offering.

“We are also delighted to celebrate a key milestone at our Turin base this Winter, as the airport welcomes a 3rd Ryanair based aircraft. Ryanair’s US$300m investment in Turin underpins our long-term strategy of supporting the growth of Italy’s regional airports, as evidenced by the 3m passengers we will deliver to Turin Airport this year – driving inbound tourism to the region and supporting year-round international connectivity.

“We’ve worked closely with the SAGAT team to make this growth possible – proving that competitive charges and efficient operations are key to unlocking growth.

“Our partnership with Turin Airport dates back to our very first flight from London Stansted to Turin in 1999 and, after 25 successful years, we are committed to continuing growing in the Region.

“To further build on this success and unlock even greater opportunities for Italian aviation, tourism, and employment, Ryanair again calls on the Italian govt to scrap the Municipal Tax across all Italian airports to stimulate further traffic, tourism, and jobs growth.

“If removed, Ryanair will respond with an additional 40 aircraft (+US$4bn investment), 20m additional annual passengers, 250 new routes, supporting 15,000 additional jobs throughout Italy.

“To celebrate Ryanair’s new aircraft at Torino Airport this Winter, we’ve launched a 2-day seat sale with fares from €24.99 available only at Ryanair.com.”

Andrea Andorno, Torino Airport CEO’s said: “I am very satisfied with the result we announce today. The third Ryanair aircraft based at our airport confirms the strategic value of the joint work we have carried out so far with the airline.

“The new routes and the increase in frequencies on 16 other destinations already served will allow an even greater number of tourists to visit Turin and Piedmont, as well as offer more convenient travel options for those residing here.

“We therefore invite everyone to always check the Ryanair website for available destinations and fares to and from Turin.

“Thanks to balanced growth between the international and domestic segments, Ryanair offers a wide range of enhanced products designed to meet the needs of every type of traveller.

“From 7 weekly flights to Madrid to the flight to London Stansted operating 16 times a week, from connections to Pescara even during winter to improved links with many cities in the South and the islands, there are many new opportunities that passengers will be able to enjoy at low prices.

“With this move, Turin also improves its positioning on the map of European tourist destinations. Anyone planning a trip will find it easy to choose Turin for a weekend getaway or a longer stay that allows them to explore the surrounding region as well.

“In 2023, we measured an increase in tourists using Torino Airport compared to 2019 (before the opening of Ryanair’s base and before the pandemic): foreign tourists increased by 72%, and Italian tourists by 15%.

“I am confident that, with the addition of the third based aircraft, these numbers will continue to grow, benefiting the entire area”.
