Ryanair has proceeded with an increase of its routes, effectively doubling the passengers travelling with its flights to and from Pafos Airport. More specifically, it is estimated that this year, around 940,000 passengers are expected to travel with Ryanair flights to and from Pafos, thus contributing significantly to the further increase in passenger traffic at Pafos Airport, during both the summer winter periods.
At the same time, Ryanair also strengthens its presence in Cyprus by increasing to three, the number of its aircraft based in Pafos Airport. During an event that took place at Pafos Airport, Hermes Airports welcomed Ryanair’s flight from Dublin, marking the beginning of a new dynamic presence of the Irish air carrier in Cyprus.
In a statement, Maria Kouroupi, Senior Manager of Aviation Development, Marketing and Communication at Hermes Airports, noted that the increase and enrichment of Ryanair’s routes in Pafos has a dual meaning. On the one hand, she said, it confirms the trust of the Irish carrier to the tourist product of Cyprus whilst on the other hand, it contributes in a catalytical way to the further increase of the passenger traffic at Pafos Airport.
Nikolas Lardis, Ryanair’s Sales Manager for Eastern Europe, said in a statement that he is delighted with the strengthening of Ryanair’s flight program to and from Pafos whilst he also expressed the belief that the presence of the Irish carrier in Cyprus would prove to be even more successful in the future.
Furthermore, Hermes Airports, Ryanair and Pafos Tourism Development Company have jointly organized a “workshop” for hoteliers and tour operators, during which the participants had the opportunity to be thoroughly informed about the prospects for growth and opportunities for business partnerships that are arising with the Irish airline.
