Samoa Airways leases one Boeing 737 MAX 9 from ALC

Samoa Airways has leased one new Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft on long-term lease from aircraft lessor the Air Lease Corporation (ALC).

The aircraft is scheduled to deliver in Spring 2019 from ALC’s order book with Boeing.

Samoa Airways chief executive officer, Alvin Tuala said: “We are delighted to lease this new Boeing 737 MAX 9 jet from ALC for our flagship international routes, offering the most modern and economical aircraft for our airline.”

ALC executive chairman, Steven F. Udvar-Házy added: “The 737 MAX 9 will enhance Samoa Airways’ signature experience in the air and contribute to the airline’s growing route network.”

ALC assistant vice president, Matthew Stevens said it will be the first new Boeing 737 MAX 9 in the South Pacific region and will operate a frequent schedule from Samoa to Australia and New Zealand.
