Shannon Airport temporarily suspends operations after aircraft incident

Shannon Airport has temporarily suspended operations after an incident involving a Boeing 767 aircraft and said it it is currently working to remove the aircraft from the scene.

No exact details were given but Twitter user Jack O’Shea @theonejackoshea has posted an image of an Omni Air International aircraft stationed on the runway.

Other tweets from user said that the 767 made an emergency landing. All passengers and crew have reportedly disembarked.

The airport tweeted: “We can confirm that an incident has occurred at Shannon Airport involving a Boeing 763 aircraft. Emergency services are in attendance. All passengers and crew have disembarked. Airport operations temporarily suspended. More information to follow.”

In another tweet the airport said: “We are currently working to remove the aircraft from the scene of the incident so we can resume safe operations on the runway. This may take some time. We are advising passengers to continue with check-in. More updates to follow.”
