Sibiu International Airport plays an important role in the regional and international connectivity of the country, being a strategic pillar within Southern Transylvania that generates new opportunities as a key regional asset, and a propeller for the local community. Over more, Sibiu Airport serves an up-growing region that boasts a catchment area of about 2,6 million people.
Sibiu International Airport launches a CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR STATE AID UNDER THE STATE AID SCHEME FOR SUPPORTING THE ACTIVITY OF AIR OPERATORS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE ECONOMIC CRISES GENERATED BY COVID-19 PANDEMIC. The objective of the measure is to support the activity of air operators and to support the economic recovery and structural viability of the region in the context of the coronavirus outbreak.
Starting now and until 31st of June 2021, all airlines can apply for the financial support, granted by the Sibiu County Council and approved by the European Commission. The budget of the State aid scheme is the equivalent in RON of the amount of 1.660.000 EUR. The aid per company will not exceed 800.000 EUR.
