Ski lovers planning to hit the slopes in North America this winter can take their equipment from the UK free of charge when flying with Air Canada.

The Canadian flag carrier will transport skis or a snowboard at no extra cost, along with an equipment bag and boots, allowing customers to reach Canada’s impressive slopes with ease.

This benefit is available on all Air Canada return fares, except Economy Basic.

Air Canada offers skiers and snowboarders more daily flights from the UK to Canada than any other airline, with year round non-stop services from London Heathrow to Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa and Halifax.

From here, customers can easily connect onward to a winter destination of their choice and take full advantage of Canada’s generous offering.

For skiers and snowboarders travelling to the United States with Air Canada, transfers are seamless when connecting through Canada.

Customers do not need to collect their bags or ski and snowboard equipment during transit and can pre-clear U.S. Customs and Immigration before departure.

Other Star Alliance member airlines also offer similar provisions for ski and snow sports equipment.

Any additional winter sports items, including helmets, skates or slalom poles, when checked in separately, count as one piece of checked baggage.

Ski boots are the only exception, with one boot bag permitted per passenger when carried with skis or a snowboard, or when containing boots only.
