Strong traffic growth for Moscow Sheremetyevo

Sheremetyevo International Airport has reported that passenger traffic grew by 15.4 per cent year-on-year in the first five months of 2019.

Between January and May, the airport welcomed 18.7 million passengers and saw 155,120 take-off and landing operations which is 15.8 per cent more than in the same period in 2018.

In the first five months of the year passenger traffic on international flights was up 13.4 per cent (9.838 million), and domestic traffic increased by 17.7 per cent (8.949 million).

In May 2019, Sheremetyevo serviced 4.112 million people, or 12.6 per cent more than in May last year. Passenger traffic for May was up 13.6 per cent on international flights with a total of 2.226 million, and up 11.5 per cent on domestic flights at 1.886 million.

In the first five months of 2019, the majority of passenger traffic came from flights operated by Aeroflot, Nordwind Airlines, Rossiya Airlines, Ikar Airlines, Air France and Royal Flight.

The most popular international destinations from January to May were Paris, Antalya,Yerevan, Tel Aviv and Beijing. The top domestic were St.Petersburg, Sochi, Simferopol, Yekaterinburg and Krasnodar.
