Torino Airport launches the new Covid Test Point

Torino Airport announces the opening of the new Covid Test Point at the airport available, on a voluntary basis, to all passengers arriving or departing from Turin.

The initiative, first in Italy to combine serological test and, in case of positive outcome, molecular swab, was born with the aim of containing the risk of spreading the virus and allows travellers who choose the air transport to reach in maximum safety family, friends and their business contacts.

The structure, created in collaboration with local health authority ASL Città di Torino and the private company Air Medical, provides passengers travelling to and from Torino Airport, in possession of a valid travel document a service aimed at reducing the risk of spreading the pandemic from Covid-19, by carrying out serological tests, with timely outcome released in 10 minutes.

The Covid Test Point is located in a public area, in the Check-In D hall of the Departures Level of Turin Airport, next to the Sala Amica, easy to be reached by passengers.

The operation aims to strengthen the perception of safety that distinguishes air travel, and furthermore it opens the way to a new normality for the community and for tourism.

The monitoring at Torino Airport, accessible for a fee of 30€, is carried out through a serological test Covid-19 Igg/Igm: the device, registered at the Italian Ministry of Health, through the collection of a drop of blood allows the rapid and simultaneous detection of antibodies against SARS-Cov-2 class G and M, providing timely outcomes on the state of health. In this way, an efficient social monitoring and prevention of further outbreaks of Coronavirus is carried out for the benefit of the entire community.

In case of positive result, passengers will be immediately carried out at the airport a free nasopharyngeal molecular swab.

In addition, as before, at Torino Airport is continuing the activity of mandatory and free screening dedicated to passengers incoming from France, Spain, Great Britain and the Netherlands with direct flights.

Air Medical also offers non-passengers the possibility of carrying out both the serological test and swab for a fee, by booking it in advance.

Thanks to a special agreement signed between ASL Città di Torino, Air Medical and Torino Airport, all the data collected by the Covid Test Point will be available to the local Health Authorities and used for statistical purposes, to understand and monitor the development of the epidemic from Covid-19.

The Covid Test Point of Torino Airport will be available from Monday to Sunday, with the following opening times:

– Monday to Friday from 8AM to 8PM;
