UK airports are bracing for their busiest day of the year on Friday 29 August, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium.
A total of 3,271 flights are scheduled to depart, offering more than half a million seats.
The figure marks the highest number of UK departures since October 2019, just before the pandemic severely disrupted global air travel.
The volume of flights will exceed the busiest day in 2024 and reach 92% of the peak seen in 2019, when there were 3,559 departures.
Heathrow will handle the most flights, followed by Gatwick, Manchester, Stansted and Edinburgh.
The most popular destinations are expected to be Dublin, Amsterdam, Mallorca, Alicante and Malaga.
On the airline front, easyJet will operate the largest share of flights, with British Airways and Ryanair close behind.
The figures highlight the continued recovery of UK aviation, with passenger demand during the peak summer getaway period driving activity close to pre-pandemic levels.
