Construction will soon begin on a new Van der Valk hotel at Liège Airport, in a move described as a boost for the Walloon economy.

The 17,000m² development will include 182 rooms, a 250-seat brasserie, a panoramic sky bar with terrace views, ten meeting rooms, and an 800m² wellness and fitness area.

Parking will be provided for 275 vehicles, alongside charging stations for electric cars.

Scheduled to open in April 2027, it will be the group’s fifth property in the province, joining hotels in Verviers, Liège Congrès, Liège Sélys, and Spa.

Marco Wohrmann, managing director of Van der Valk’s Liège hotels, said the airport was a “strategic location at the heart of Walloon economic development”.

Liège Airport’s chief executive, Laurent Jossart, welcomed the project, saying it would increase the airport’s attractiveness and support its growth plans.

The airport currently supports more than 11,000 jobs and 160 companies, with a €500m investment strategy to double in size over the next 15 years.
