Vietnam’s low-cost carrier Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company has reported a robust financial performance for the third quarter of 2025, achieving 97% of its annual plan and maintaining steady growth across its operations.

The airline said it plans to further expand its network in the Asia-Pacific region, including by increasing flight frequencies between Singapore and Vietnam in the fourth quarter.

Strong revenue and profit growth

In the three months to September 2025, Vietjet recorded air transport revenue of VND16.7 trillion (around SGD828 million) and a pre-tax profit of VND393 billion (about SGD19.5 million).

For the first nine months of the year, air transport revenue rose to VND52.3 trillion (approximately SGD2.59 billion) with a pre-tax profit of VND1.99 trillion (about SGD98.6 million), up 28% year-on-year.

Consolidated revenue reached VND52.8 trillion (around SGD2.62 billion), while total profit stood at VND2.05 trillion (about SGD101.8 million), marking a 17% annual increase.

Ancillary revenue — including add-ons such as baggage and in-flight services — accounted for 41% of total air revenue, rising 19% year-on-year to VND6.89 trillion (roughly SGD341.7 million).

Expanding network and fleet performance

As of 30 September, Vietjet operated 219 routes — 169 international and 50 domestic — with a fleet of 98 aircraft. The airline carried 21.5 million passengers during the period, maintaining a load factor of 86% and technical reliability of 99.72%, among the highest in the region.

In response to growing demand from both leisure and business travellers, particularly between Singapore and Vietnam, Vietjet will expand its regional services.

From 21 November 2025, the Singapore–Da Nang route will increase to two daily return flights, while the Singapore–Phu Quoc route will operate seven weekly return flights from 23 December 2025.

With these additions, the airline expects to carry over half a million passengers annually on Singapore–Vietnam routes, reflecting its strategy to enhance regional connectivity and support tourism and trade growth.

Dividend and investment in sustainability

Vietjet’s board has approved a 20% stock dividend, equivalent to over 118 million new shares with a total nominal value of VND1.18 trillion (about SGD58.6 million), citing its strong financial foundation and shareholder value.

The airline is also investing in long-term initiatives, including the development of an Aircraft Maintenance Centre at Long Thanh Airport, trials of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and expanded training programmes at its Aviation Academy.

Vietjet recently received the 2025 Sustainability Award from AirlineRatings, was named among Asia’s Best Workplaces, and featured in Forbes Vietnam’s Top 50 Best Public Companies, underscoring its growing international recognition.

With favourable market conditions, lower fuel prices and a strong operational base, Vietjet said it expects to continue its growth momentum into 2026.
