Wizz Air UK – a wholly-owned subsidiary airline of Wizz Air Holdings – has today celebrated the first anniversary of its launch with the start of two new services to Bergen in Norway and Thessaloniki in Greece from its London Luton Airport base.

Both routes started today (1 July) and will operate four times a week.

This summer, Wizz Air UK is set to become the largest airline at London Luton with a 41 per cent market share.

The carrier currently has over 8.5 million seats on sale on its 59 low-fare London Luton routes, representing 22 per cent growth year-on-year.

Since launching in the summer of 2018, Wizz Air UK’s fleet of Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft has grown from one based aircraft to 11.

Wizz Air UK managing director, Owain Jones said: “Wizz Air UK has gone from strength to strength since we launched last year. Growing from one based aircraft so that we can offer over 8.5 million seats on our low-fare routes is no mean feat.”
