Wizz Air today announces its largest ever UK summer schedule, significantly increasing capacity and choice for British travellers ahead of peak holiday season.
This airline will operate more than 104 routes to 77 destinations from the UK this summer, as part of a wider network of over 1,000 routes across Europe and beyond.
London will be central to Wizz Air’s summer operations with 69 routes from London Luton Airport (LLA) and 20 routes from London Gatwick (LGW). This provides extensive connectivity to destinations across Europe and beyond – from popular holiday hotspots, to lesser-known hidden gems – all at affordable prices, reflecting the airline’s mission to make travel accessible to everyone.
New connections to Spain and Greece
This summer, Wizz Air is significantly expanding its presence in some of the most popular holiday hotspots for UK customers.
The airline has just launched new flights from London Luton to Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Alicante and Seville, offering a mix of vibrant city breaks, cultural hotspots and sun-soaked escapes, with return flights starting below £50 each.
The airline will operate daily flights to Madrid and two daily services to Barcelona, giving travellers greater flexibility for both short breaks and longer stays.
Alongside Spain, Wizz Air will also serve seven destinations in Greece from London, including Athens, Mykonos and Crete, offering a mix of island and mainland options across the peak season.
Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director of Wizz Air UK, said: “This summer, our customers told us exactly what they wanted – more sunshine, more choice and unbeatable value – and we listened. As the UK’s favourite pink airline, we’re stepping up while others step back, launching more routes, more flights and even better prices to Europe’s most loved destinations.
“From buzzing Spanish cities to iconic Greek escapes, we’re delivering the routes people actually want, at the best prices in the market.
“This is what happens when you put customers first – bold growth, brilliant value and a summer schedule designed around how people really want to travel.”
Simon Harley, Interim Director of Aeronautical Revenues, commented: “Providing even greater choice is one of the many ways that we look to deliver a simple and friendly passenger experience at London Luton Airport, and we are delighted to see Wizz Air extending its LLA route network with these six exciting new Spanish destinations.
“It’s very exciting to be spearheading Wizz Air’s expanded summer operations, with 69 routes and the addition of sunshine, cultural hotspots, Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Alicante and Seville.
“Whether it’s tantalising tapas to treat the taste buds, a feel-good flamenco, or the freedom to enjoy an afternoon siesta, these destinations offer something for everyone and are set to become firm favourites with the millions of holidaymakers who are choosing to kick-start their travels with LLA this summer.”
