SAS has signed a deal with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) to lease three new Airbus A321-200neo LR aircraft – scheduled for delivery in 2020 and 2021 from ALC’s order book with Airbus.
The three new A321LR aircraft add to two A320-200neos on lease to the airline, for a total of five Airbus aircraft confirmed to deliver to SAS from ALC.
SAS chief executive officer, Rickard Gustafson said: “This is a completely new type of aircraft for SAS.
“Incredibly well-adapted to the Scandinavian market and our travel patterns, we look forward to the launch of new routes and to evaluate the A321LR in service.”
ALC executive vice president, Marc Baer said: “The A321LR is a key addition to SAS’ fleet with the capability to reach the airline’s most important international markets, as well as new destinations in smaller markets – all from Scandinavia.”
