American Airlines will launch a new daily flight between London Heathrow Airport and Miami International Airport in October.

In tandem, joint business partner British Airways is increasing its flight schedule from London to American’s hub in Philadelphia.

American Airlines managing director at London Heathrow, Rhett Workman said: “This will be American’s biggest year yet at Heathrow with an additional flight to Miami and new year-round service to Phoenix.”

He added: “We’re not only giving customers in the UK increased access to the warm winter sun destinations they want, but also working with our partner British Airways to better meet the demand for premium seats in important markets and connecting hubs like Philadelphia.”

American’s Miami hub serves as the airline’s gateway to the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, where the airline is the leading carrier. American operates nearly 350 daily to 130 destinations in 43 countries and territories from Miami.

To Philadelphia, British Airways will operate three additional flights per week offering customers more chances to experience its service on board.
