airBaltic carriers 12% more passengers in first month of 2019

Latvian airline airBaltic carried 260,383 or 12 per cent more passengers during January 2019 than in the same period last year to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.

The load factor in the month was 58 per cent, four percentage points down on the same month in 2018. During January 2019, airBaltic operated 4,386 flights or 13 per cent more than in January 2018.

airBaltic chief executive officer, Martin Gauss said “We are excited to start the year with great results and higher demand from passengers across the Baltic states. We are set to successfully continue our sustainable growth path in 2019, and continue to improve our network as well as product we offer our passengers.”

The airline serves over 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, offering the largest variety of destinations and convenient connections via Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Middle East. In summer 2019, airBaltic will introduce five new destinations from Riga to Dublin, Stuttgart and Lviv as well as Kos and Menorca.
