Austrian Airlines connects Birmingham to Vienna in 2020

From January 1, 2020 Austrain Airlines will fly four times weekly to Vienna from Birmingham with Economy fares from £89 return. Flights will depart at 1315 for the Austrian capital and arrive at 1635 local time on board an Embraer 195 aircraft with eight Bussiness Class seats available and 112 in Economy.  

Vienna lies in eastern Austria on the Danube River with an artistic and musical legacy shaped by its internationaly renowned residents, including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. Known for its Baroque streetscapes, imperial palaces and coffee-house culture, the city’s vibrant history beckons the cultured traveller.

The new route will not only provide the West Midlands with access to multiple European cities with reduced transfer times but also provide onward connections to long-haul destinations across Asia, including Beijing and Tokyo.

Lufthansa Group Senior Director of Sales in the UK, Ireland and Iceland said: “We are delighted to launch the new Austrian Airlines service with a more coordinated flight schedule, resulting in more efficient and comfortable transfer possibilities to our long-  and shorthaul network. With the new service, Lufthansa Group introduces another premium product to the Midlands customers, offering lounge and fast track access at Birmingham Airport and state of the art lounge and transfer services at our hub in Vienna.”

From summer 2020 the route will increase to a daily service.
