easyJet will start four new routes from Bordeaux Airport in 2019 and will also add a 4th aircraft to the base it first opened in 2006 and where it boasts a market share of 30 per cent and carries more than two million passengers a year.
The low-cost carrier has become Bordeaux Airport’s top airline in network terms, and the airline aims to increase passenger capacity by 22 per cent, representing a total of three million seats in 2019.
To further strengthen this position, a 4th aircraft is to join the orange fleet, expanding the network once again in 2019 by bringing 4 new routes – Granada (exclusive route), Lanzarote (Canaries), Mahon (Balearic Islands) and Porto.
easyJet’s deputy chief executive officer in France, Reginald Otten said: “We are proud to operate Bordeaux’s biggest network, having opened our base here in March 2018. The arrival of a 4th aircraft will bolster our flight schedule with the addition of 4 destinations, bringing our total number of routes to 37, including 16 that we operate exclusively.
“Our success lies in the quality of our network, our long-term cooperation with Bordeaux Airport, and the support of the people of Bordeaux and this great region.”
