German holiday carrier Eurowings has announced the addition of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to its winter 2024/25 network, from Berlin and Cologne.

The new route follows the “success” of the airline’s Dubai route, Eurowings said, which operates from Berlin and Stuttgart.

Eurowings’ Jeddah route will commence with three weekly flights from Berlin and Cologne.

The airline hailed this as a “significant expansion of connections to the Gulf region”.

Jens Bischof, Eurowings CEO, said: “With attractive daily flight times, best prices starting at €179 and fast direct connections from Stuttgart and Berlin, we have already won over many customers.

“This success is motivating us to significantly increase frequencies next winter.”

The addition of Jeddah will mark the Lufthansa Group subsidiary’s first visit to Saudi Arabia.

Eurowings added that Berlin-Dubai has become its most successful winter season route following its launch last year.

From October, Dubai will now be served  with daily flights from Berlin, and three weekly flights from Stuttgart.
