By Edward Robertson

Fraport AG has chosen a new Departure Control System (DCS) for passenger handling and weight and balance.

The airport service company began using iPort DCS on March 22 and has since successfully processed a number of flights with the technology, following a smooth transition to it.

Hans van Engelen, CEO at Res2 which is behind the ground handling tech, said: “We are very excited to welcome Fraport AG and look forward to a sustainable and long-term partnership.

“Res2 aims to support daily operations, resulting in a smooth and efficient handling process whilst ensuring a pleasant customer experience.”

Fraport AG executive assistant to senior vice president Marco Kölsch added: “In seeking for an innovative and cost-effective DCS that is above all very user-friendly and offers a wide range of services, iPort DCS particularly caught our eye.

“The contacting, the contract negotiation, the implementation and finally the first handling was very smooth.”
