Goodyear signs 10-year contract to equip KLM and Transavia 737 NG fleet

Goodyear announces today that it has been selected by AFI KLM E&M as the unique tyre supplier to the Boeing 737 NG fleets of Air France-KLM Group, which includes over 130 aircraft.

For the next ten years, KLM and Transavia will be equipping their 737 NG aircraft with the Goodyear Flight Leader, delivering greater reliability and capacity.

“We are confident the Goodyear Flight Leader will deliver outstanding performance on our 737 NG fleet and support our overall sustainability goals by their retreadability,” says Ton Dortmans, EVP KLM Engineering & Maintenance.

Goodyear’s retread factory in Tilburg is closely located to the main Dutch airport in Schiphol, allowing a swift and efficient customer service to further excel customer expectations.

The unique cord body shape of the Goodyear Flight Leader bias tyre helps to reduce stress as the tyre cycles from tension to compression.

It features a specially compounded tread design and large contact area, offering the versatility to operate on different runway types.

There are two mounted sizes, for the nose and for the main tyres, with a speed rating/unit of 225 MPH.

“We are pleased to work closely with AFI KLM E&M and to provide the KLM and Transavia 737 NG fleets with one of our most versatile ranges, Flight Leader. Our development focus is to deliver best-in-class quality and service to our customers, as every landing counts,” says Loïc Ravasio, General Manager Goodyear Aviation EMEA

“We look forward to supporting KLM’s and Transavia’s multifaced operations while optimising overall cost control” .
