Swissport joins IATA gender balance initiative

Swissport has joined “25by2025”, the IATA initiative on raising the number of women in senior management and in areas where women are underrepresented.

The commitment is part of Swissport’s focus on diversity and inclusion.

Warwick Brady, President & CEO of Swissport International AG, has signed the IATA initiative “25by2025” at the IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Doha, Qatar. The initiative aims to raise female representation in senior management as well as in areas which are currently still underrepresented by women to 25 percent by 2025.

“Diversity and inclusion are key priorities in our ESG agenda”, says Warwick Brady.

“By joining the 25by2025 initiative, Swissport wants to make a statement as the sector leader, even though we have already reached or in fact even exceeded the goals of 25by2025 in some areas.

“Having a focus on gender equality and inclusion of minorities contributes to a working environment that attracts and retains the best talent.”

At Swissport, one third of all employees are women on the global level across all business units. And the same threshold has already been reached in the Global Management Team.

Currently, Swissport is putting its focus on the leadership levels below, aiming for a share of at least 25% women there.

In Airport Ground Services, Swissport’s most important business line, women already make up 36% of all staff this summer. Also, in air cargo handling, our lounge hospitality business, aircraft cleaning and in the centralized load control teams, Swissport has already exceeded the IATA threshold of 25% women.
